SACRAMENTO, CA — Following the release of Governor Newsom’s proposed 2024-25 state budget, Local Health Plans of California CEO Linnea Koopmans released the following statement:
“California stands as a national leader in caring for the underrepresented and those traditionally marginalized. Nowhere is that more evident than through the comprehensive care Medi-Cal offers to 15 million residents. As the state navigates a budget shortfall, we commend the dedication to maintaining Medi-Cal’s commitment to inclusivity, quality, equity and accessibility. We stand prepared to collaborate with the legislature, actively engaging in the process of charting a course towards fiscal responsibility and social equity.”
