Katie Andrew joins LHPC as the Director of Government Affairs overseeing policy and regulatory issues related to quality and behavioral health that have a direct impact on local health plans and the Medi-Cal members that they serve.

Katie has 20 years of health policy, advocacy, technical assistance, and research experience. Prior to joining LHPC, Katie served as the Director of Government Affairs for LIBERTY Dental Plan, where she led the overall management, coordination, and performance of LIBERTY’s government and public affairs activities. Before her time at LIBERTY, Katie worked to improve the health and wellness of California’s children through policy education, advocacy, and outreach efforts, where she specifically focused on oral health, health care quality and access, and medical-dental integration and collaboration.

Katie is a formal Women’s State Policy Institute Fellow at the Women’s Foundation of California. She holds a master’s degree in Sociology of Education and Health Promotion with a Public Policy focus from Columbia University’s Teachers College and BA in Sociology with a minor in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley.
